| We are a manufacturer of signal heads, masts, signal bridges, controllers, track detectors, switch point position detectors and sign accessories for the Grand Scale Railroad enthusiast. What is Grand Scale - typically a railroad when measuring the distance between the inside of the rail heads of 10 inches to 19 inches. Although we also include as small as 7 1/2 inch gage to as large as 24 inch gage in the description of a Grand Scale Railroad. A railroad were you can ride on or in the cars and engines and enjoy a trip around the layout of a Grand Scale Railroad. A Grand Scale Railroad could be Privately Owned, a club, Zoo, Amusement Park, in a park, tourist operation, etc. This is what makes up a Grand Scale Railroad! The business started as "Railroad Signals by Britton" and we attended the 2003 Grand Scales Quarterly convention in Reedly, CA were I showed off our initial signal heads, masts and a set of grade crossing lights. After this show I incorporated the business as "Grand Scale Railroad Signals, Inc." and secured our first contact to install a signal system for John Woods' Arborway, TT & Northwestern Railway (ATT & NW), a privately owned railroad located in mid-state Missouri. For more information on John's railroad see www.arborwayrailroad.com Though out the next three years I/we developed additional products, went to train shows to showoff our products and operating systems. While doing a show in the Denver area, we picked up a contract for a signal system for the Rio Golden Railroad located in Heritage Square Amusement Park in Golden, CO. See www.heritagerailroad.com Rio Golden Railroad was built and operated by Ed Dickens and Brian Smith. These two gentleman also work for the Union Pacific Railroad, Brian is a locomotive engineer primarily working the line from Denver to Cheyenne and Ed is Number 1 Engineer, 2nd in charge under Steve Lee on the Union Pacific Steam Program. Brian has since left the Rio Golden Railroad and Steve Lee has become part of the operation. And during the course of all this got into financial trouble! Ops - had to close the business, re-organize and develop a new business plan. I am now the GRAND SCALE SIGNAL COMPANY. Please take a look at our HOME & OFFICE MODELS. The Home & Office Models we can provide you with signals and grade crossing with automated sequencing of the signal and operation of the grade crossings. |
